What We Do

The Sav-A-Life Ministry

Each year, 9000 women in Alabama believe that abortion is the only solution to an unplanned pregnancy. Sav-A-Life, Vestavia is the largest pregnancy care center in the Birmingham metropolitan area and is dedicated to putting an end to abortion, not by legal and public policy, but by supporting one woman at a time, to spare her and her child from abortion.

We work to accomplish this goal by offering free and confidential services, counseling, education, and support to empower women to carry their babies to term.

Services

We offer free pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, prenatal assessment, STI/STD testing for men and women, childbirth education classes, parenting classes, and fatherhood programming in two convenient locations.

Pregnancy Decision Coaching

We provide a safe, friendly, and non-judgmental environment where clients can discuss their fears and concerns and receive vital information regarding their health, pregnancy, and options. Trained staff and volunteers offer a safe, confidential, non-judgmental environment where both women and men can receive honest, medically-accurate information and explore their options.

Counseling

We provide a safe, friendly, and non-judgmental environment where clients can discuss their fears and concerns and receive vital information regarding their health, pregnancy, and options. Trained staff and volunteers offer confidential Christian counseling for men and women.

The Gospel

Education

Trained staff and volunteers educate both women and men about the alternatives to abortion, risks and long-term effects of abortion, emergency contraceptives, and sexually transmitted infections. With this knowledge, clients are empowered to make informed decisions and bring needed restoration to their lives.

Support

Our services aren’t just a one-time meeting. Our education department builds long-term relationships with our clients and their families through one-on-one mentoring. These sessions include confidential Christian coaching, support, and prayer. Bible studies, support groups, and peer counseling are also part of the relationship-building process.

The education programs offes material assistance through the Stork’s Nest Baby Boutique. Clients earn Mommy Money and Daddy Dollars to purchase much-needed baby items, such as diapers, baby and maternity clothing, strollers, cribs and more.
